ASSISTANT RESEARCHER, Pos. no. 85940T.  Manoa Campus, Full-time, temporary,
non-tenure track, federal funds, to begin approximately July 1997 for 12
months, continuation subject to continuation of funds.  

DUTIES: Mineralogic, petrologic, and geochemical studies of stone
meteorites, with an aim to contribute to understanding the origin and
evolution of their asteroidal parent bodies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in geology, geophysics, or related fields;
minmum 3 years of relevant research experience, as documented by scientific
publications in this field.  

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in electron microprobe analysis and
optical microscopy.

PAY RANGE: R3, minimum $4,108 per month, commensurate with qualifications
and experience.
