65 million years ago a huge asteroid obliquely slammed into Earth
killing most of the dinosaurs and ejecting millions of tons of life
covered rock into a wide range of orbits around the Sun.

64.853 million years ago a 743 lbs. chunk of Earth crashed into Mars.
99.99% of the 423,877 life forms on the rock were dead, the rest(after
surviving 147,000 years in vacuum with no water or air and intense full
spectrum solar radiation) slowly adapt.

1998 AD, 14 of the originally adapted life forms survive and cover
89.6% of the Martian surface.

2014 AD the first Martian return sample(7.43 lbs.) arrives on Earth
with 654 complete organisms and 1132 spores of 8 different life forms,
99% are dead.

2015 AD the sample is sterilized in a vacuum chamber with full spectrum
solar radiation at 500% Earth normal intensity for 43 hours.(This
process was stopped early do to the degrading of certain blue crystals
to a more violet color)

3 spores fall on the concrete floor of the Martian Receiving Lab and
begin to metabolize the floor.
