And a silence falls upon the list..... : )

Hi Everyone!   

Well, I have to say, I enjoy "color" and "personality" as much as the next
person, but I agree with the general concensus that the list was getting a
bit too hostile.  Sometimes when the kids won't stop fighting, you have to
send them to their rooms to "cool off".  It doesn't mean you're not a
family anymore, just that everyone needs to clear their heads and start
fresh.  Sometimes people get to preoccupied with having to have the last
word.  OK for them, but for the rest of us "captive audience"...not so much
fun.

I really don't believe anyone else on the list will now be afraid to speak
their minds.  I think even before Art made his views known, other list
members expressed their opinions about the bickering pretty
straightforwardly.  If postees pay attention, they'll be able to figure out
when others don't want to hear it anymore.

As far as posting ads, my opinion (if anyone cares ; )  is that I actually
like the ads for the most part.  They are about items we all enjoy, and
I've bought several things I might have missed out on otherwise.  Perhaps a
strictly enforced policy that the Subject box must be structured in a
certain way....

This way it's quick to delete, but available to those who want it.   If
this isn't acceptable, then the ONElist mailing list thing sounds like a
good alternative to us advertising junkies.
