Hi Jim and all the List Members,

The sources for the info on the Xinjiang iron are:

Mass: 1 mass, 28 000 kg
2) The main mass (20 tons) of this little known meteorite remains at the
place of find; five pieces weighing 74.92g were acquired by the Acad.
Sci. USSR. in 1939, L.A. Kulik, Meteoritika, 1941, 2, p.123 (M.A.
10-174), E.L. Krinov, Katalog Meteoritov Akad. Nauk SSSR, Moskva, 1947,
(M.A. 10-511). Description, analysis, 9.92% Ni, O.S. Vyalov,
Meteoritika, 1949, 5, p.23 (M.A. 12-106) -> Catalogue of Meteorites, 4th
