Re: King Tut's Tektite - Libyan Desert Glass Petrogenesis Debated

& Related
Desert Events," July 18, 1996, Bologna University, Italy. (Published 1997)

Abstract: The hypothesis of the formation of Libyan Desert Glass (LDG) from
sandstone by meteorite impact fails by several orders of magnitude. primary
and secondary clues found in its structure, quality and chemistry,
demonstrate that this glass qualifies as a type of layered tektite. As
such, LDG is deduced to be a high-silica variety of welded lunar volcanic
glass particles.
