By Man and Meteor

This was in the May edition of Thai Airlines magazine: The largest
man-made island is the Ile Rene-Lavasseur, a 2,020 sq. km. island in
Manicouagan Reservoir, Quebec, Canada. The reservoir was formed by the
damming of a river to flood a 210 million year old meteor crater whose
central uplift became the island. Sincerely, Dirk Ross
