Asteroids feel the force

According to a recent report in Science, some asteroids may be influenced by
a subtle, often ignored, force -- the so-called 'Yarkovsky effect', named
after a Russian engineer who discovered it 100 years ago. He found that
small shifts occur in the orbits of spinning bodies when they are warmed
unevenly by the Sun. The reactions vary according to the size, thermal and
rotational properties of the objects.
