Re: Bernd: Meteor May Not Have Destroyed Dinosaurs Afterall?



Hello list....  I still don't buy this nickel (poisoning theory)!  The
impact altered the Earth's temperature for many, many years, causing species
which lay eggs to go extinct, IF that species' hatchling's sex is determined
by ground temperature!  (such as turtles and crocs.)  Only females
thereafter were hatched.  I was asked before, why then, do the crocs and
turtles survive.... it is due to their life-span.  They live longer!  When
Earth's temperature returned to normal, there were still some
breeding-capable males left around to continue the species!  Ta-da.
