I second your statement, Gene, especially regarding the fact that it is
both an unconfirmed and an unclassified specimen so far.
This wonīt help anyone, except perhaps the guy with all the $$$ in his
mind (P.S. sorry Matteo, but that is how I see it - nothing against you
personally, but at this point I believe you have definitely crossed the
border of commercial integrity).
If it WERE a genuine meteorite, if it HAD been confirmed, and HAD been
classified, there would be no problem at all, and the price you ask for
would just be a price one could refuse or one could simply agree to, on
the principle that a meteorite is "worth" what you are willing to pay
for it. But what you are doing here, I believe, is not a good thing to
the "synergetics" of all the different communities involved. I wonīt
call any names here, but some of the official dealers on this list have
repeatedly complained about their apparently "bad status" as dealers
here (...well, I am not of the opinion that they have so bad a status,
but anyway..).
Matteo, do you believe a post like the one you made here will help
improving the good understanding in between all the different groups?
Well, may be you just donīt care.
