Re: meteorite fall in Brazil 1999

I live in Brazil and have a passion toward meteorites. Indeed I wrote a
small book (the first in Portuguese published down here) recovering the
history of the Bendego Iron, found in 1876.

I have not heard about any fall in Brazil in 1999. We had a nice finding in
1963 which kept uknown until september 1998 when the first Brazilian
pallasite was recognized, São Paulo State University.

A photography os this meteorite and its finding description was published in
the Meteorite magazine vol.5, number 3, page 6.

It is a very nice piece weighting originally almost 60 kilos. After cutting
for Brazilians labs and museums remained 52 kilos which are available for
sale in the wholesale market.

Quijingue is the name accepted by the Nomenclature Commitee for this
meteorite, according to preliminary analysis by Dr. Zuculotto and Dr.
Wasson.

I am authorized by the owner to accept offers (wholesale only). Anyone
interested, please, send me a message in private.
