This Meteorite was found 12 km West of the village of Oum Rokba, Southern Morocco. During the summer of 2000 these meteorites were found by a nomad turned meteorite hunter. He found a small strewn field where nearly 80 kilos of this meteorite was found. Over 200 individual stones were found in an area reported to be 1km long and a 1/2 km wide. Some of the stones were as large as 8 kilos. "Rokba" has something to do with knees or old woman's knees. Also, I was told that there is a medicinal plant called "Rokba" that is given to camels with weak knees! This is a recently classified meteorite and these are nice complete stones. After the 1st of the year ALL of my Oum Rokba will be a $1.00 per gram. For this sale I have priced it at .60 to .85 per gram! Depends on the size....... NWA 096 H3.8 Chondrite, Eastern Morocco, Found 2000. Total Known Weight is Only 2500 grams! The Shock Stage is 2 and The Weathering Grade is a 2. This is a recently classified "New" H3.8 Chondrite. What I offer here is all that I have for sale. There will be no more to sell ....after these are gone. This is a FANTASTIC H3.8! The best I have seen to date. This meteorite is filled with so many strange anomalies and "things". Most pieces abound with colorful clasts and chondrules. Lots of metal and also ......well....it has an odor. When I was cutting this meteorite I noticed a smell.....the likes of which I have never smelled coming from a meteorite. It was something like cotton-candy or bubble gum. I went around to all of my other meteorites that I had been cutting that day ( over 100 cuts were made that day, with many different meteorites) and compared smells. NO OTHER meteorite smelled sweet like this NWA 096! I don't know what to make of it......it just is the BEST smelling meteorite I have ever had. Ha Ha Ha.....Strange! BEAUTIFUL. WEIRD. H6 Chondrite, Eastern Morocco, Found 2000. The total known weight is 16 kg. Six stones were found by nomads in Eastern Morocco.....somewhere in the Sahara Desert. These six stones are all from the same fall and have been classified as an H6 chondrite, with a Shock Stage of 3 and a Weathering Grade of only 1 ! These are FANTASTIC looking meteorite specimens. There is an abundance of brilliant metal and some great chondrule action. I have polished the slices of NWA 099 on both sides. The total known weight is 7.1 kg. A single stone was found by nomads somewhere in Eastern Morocco, Sahara Desert. This is a fairly fresh L6 Chondrite and there is excellent black and fresh looking fusion crust on both specimens. Weathering Grade is 1 and Shock Stage is 4. Nice amount of metal (hard to see in photo) and a creamy-tan texture. Classified by UCLA just a couple of weeks ago. Priced to sell.......Don't expect to see this price again! .59 per gram!
