Hello list,

I have just been enjoying a visit to a small 2 gram slice of Smara under
my scope at 20x. This meteorite is classified as a polymict eucrite.

In viewing this piece I was amazed at the diversity of the breccia and
wondered if there is any diogenite material in there. It sure looks like
a howardite to me and I have heard that mentioned by others as well.

Does anyone know if this classification for Smara is final or is there a
chance that this could be re-classified as a howardite.

Cheers,

Tett
