Unfortunately, there have been more than a few gyro-copter fatalities. =
Most were the result of a hard push over, which unloads the rotor and =
causes a negative "coning angle" that gets your rotor blades into the =
pusher prop or vertical stabilizer. Either way, it's not pretty. On the =
other hand, if you keep the Gs positive and otherwise fly prudently, =
gyro-copters can be pretty benign.

As far as 100k for a kit chopper, popular mechanics has run they're =
gyro-copter a couple time over the last 40 years and would cost way less =
than that kit and is a proven design (gyro-copters have no fatalities =
that I know of because of the design, the rotors are free running and =
not driven so provide a rough, but surviable landing if the push prop =
motor stalls).

Hey tom what do you think of a mini chopper (helicopter) they sell =
in kits you put together yourself for right around 100k plus some thing =
you could shine at the ground that would give a signal when you shine it =
on metal , is there anything like that does any one know?
    Thanks John=20
