Hello list. I asked about dogs searching for meteorites. I want to know more! I received a lot of e-mails on it, Some saying "its been tried, doesn't work" and some saying "its been tried, it works". I think it would work! I know dogs! I would like to know if the "It doesn't work people" took there wife's little groomed white poodle out in the field and said "get the rock". I want to know if a real dog trainer, training real dogs have been unsuccessful? The choice of dog is everything. You need a field dog, not just a working dog. Forget the mutts! The only way to go would be a good pointer! Pointers are used to find a object that landed on the ground. You don't need a tracking dog like a hound, because there is nothing to track! Shepard's would be out of there environment, there a city dog! A lab would be OK, But still not the "just right dog". So don't rule out the dog thing, unless you Know its failed when done right! Tom
