As seen here from the Netherlands (Holland), rates were quite normal with
formal Zenith Hourly Rates in the order of 70-80 on August 12, 21-23h UTC. That
is exactly what it should be. I would not call this a diminished return. It was
normal, at least according to our observations.

Perhaps we all have been a bit spoiled by the splendid Leonid returns of last
years, and a normal Perseid maximum is now rated (but clearly not by John, and
certainly not by me) as a dull experience (which it isn't. I thoroughly enjoyed
this year's Perseids).
