Yep. Many list-members, myself included, danced a long, complicated
email-waltz with this guy (actually, his daughter, if I remember correctly)
several years ago. He found a reeeeal, jen-u-wine Mars meteorite with a
cute li'l Martian spider in it (appropriately if unimaginatively named
"Spidey") and he was also selling "actual silverware" from the house near
where this "meteorite" was found. $75 per fork, I think. He's actually very
sincere, in the sense that he really does believe his own hype. He's
convinced that the reason his "find" hasn't gained scientific and public
acceptance is due to a "vast, scientist-wide conspiracy", rather than the
possibility that he might just have a rock and a dead bug.
