Hi All,

I sent this message nearly 18 hours ago, but it never showed
up on the list -- a first. Perhaps the list filter is now
filtering out meteorite-related posts... ;-)

Subject: Large Gold Basin + Lost Creek

Hi All,

I don't often offer meteorites on eBay, and have never
advertised those auctions here, but with so many people
in Tucson starting this week, I thought I'd plug a
fairly large Gold Basin individual that I put up a
couple days ago:

<http://cgi6.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=1071271325>

(If the link gets split up, the eBay item # is 1071271325).

This weighed 160.2 grams prior to cutting. It's a nice
stone with a couple armored chondrules visible in the
polished face. Exact find coordinates will be supplied
to the winner.

Also, if anyone is interested in some of the new Lost
Creek (proposed name) H3.8 chondrite from Kansas, I have
a number of reasonably thin slices already cut, and will
be cutting more in the coming days. Only a handful of
American H3's are ever available to private collectors,
and if you do a little web searching you'll discover
that the cheapest of these sells for $9/g. At just over
4 kilos mass, Lost Creek has less than a tenth the TKW
of that particular H3.

I'm offering Lost Creek in the $10-$15/gram price range
(depending on size). The meteorite should appear in the
2002 Meteoritical Bulletin -- I personally donated and
delivered half the 46+ gram type specimen to UCLA, so
the only remaining step is NomComm approval of the name.

Cheers,
Rob
