Hello fellow list members,

I was unable to attend the 65th Meteoritical Society meeting so I have =
not received the latest announcements concerning NWA 998. I will be in =
touch later on in the week with Dr. A.J. Irving after he returns from a =
NASA Mars workshop in the field. One very important feature he was =
going to discuss is the Isotopic data thus far recorded for this Unique =
Orthopyroxene-bearing Nahklite. The newly published data is so vastly =
different from the other five Nahklites that several scientists are =
focusing in on this new information that was supposed to be addressed at =
last Fridays meeting. This new data implies that NWA 998 is not source =
crater paired with the other five Nahklites which all share the same =
crystallization age. The data also has other implications that go far =
beyond NWA 998 not being source crater paired. Using current scientific =
models for these isotopes, this rock will forever change the way =
scientists think about Mars. NWA 998 is a very scientifically important =
find and research has just begun so expect to read more, soon.

Wishing everybody the best,

Adam Hupe
