which has an age of about 30 000 years in Lower Austria=2E The =

worked tektites have been thought to be lost after the death of =

J=2E Bayer=2E Recently=2C a worked moldavite appeared in a private =

collection in the United States=2C which had been obtained from =

Miss N=2E Noriega=2C formerly the secretary of Otley Beyer=2E Micro-
probe analyses of the worked tektite piece showed that it is =

indeed a moldavite=2E Thus it may be one of the Willendorf moldavite =

splinters=2E =

Another worked piece of Moldavite=2C associated with prehistoric =

remains was found at the Gundelsh=F6hle =5Ba cave=5D in the Waldviertel =

=5Bregion in northern Austria=5D=2E Like in the Willendorf case=2C the =

moldavite has been worked by Paleolithic men=2E=22
