I learned today that Catherine Fox and wrote two of
the high scorers in the contest. I thank all of the
members of the List who would encourage two new
collectors like us.

I echo the sentiments that Jim Strope should be
acknowledged for unselfishly giving of his time to
newcomers; it's an quality as appreciated as his
generosity in giving Catherine a rare NWA 482. That's
like giving the "penny black" stamp to a budding
philatelist. It doesn't get much better.

I haven't written before to the list, because I try to
listen a lot more than I speak, but I wanted to
acknowledge the sense of community and fair-play that
Jim Strope and others have demonstrated. I have begun
to learn so much about such strange and wonderful
things. My sense of wonder is re-kindled through these
posts and conversations.

So much to learn, so many friends to meet, so much to
do!

My thanks to each and everyone who makes the effort to
contribute those civil and thoughtful insights to this
List and who give of their time to make this an oasis
of intelligent discourse. There is not a lot of that
available; on or off the web.

My warmest regards to each of you who cared to write,
cast a vote or contribute in a number of ways to this
community.
