Folks,

Thanks very much for your Tucson suggestions. For posterity
and new-comers, here are the headlines from your advice.

Tucson show overviews:

  http://www.tucsonshowguide.com/tsg/
  http://www.meteorite.com/tucson.htm

Big events:

* Feb 7 2003
  Fourth Annual Meteor Mayhem Birthday Bash &
  Harvey Meteorite Awards Dinner
  Hosts: Geoff Notkin (geoking_at_notkin.net) and Steve Arnold
  8pm at La Fuente Restaurant (http://www.lafuenterestaurant.com)
  1749 North Oracle Road

* Feb 8 2003
  Michael Blood (mlblood_at_cox.net) auction on Saturday
  Preview: Room 316 at Inn Suites
  See http://www.michaelbloodmeteorites.com/Tucson%20Auction.html

* Feb 9 2003
  Darryl Pitt's auction on Sunday
  Time and place?

Hotels that meteorite folks favor:

  Inn Suites
  Vagabond http://www.vagabondinn.com/propdesc.asp?propID=421
  Executive Inn

Side trips:

  * Kartchner Caverns
    http://www.friendsofkartchner.org/
  * Dave Schultz's yet-to-be-organized (?) meteorite hunting trip

Anne's summary strategy:

  "It is rather simple. First you explore the InnSuites, and
   you will find there a lot of meteorite dealers. Then you
   hang around the InnSuites, and if you hang around long
   enough you will see everybody else, because everybody ends
   up at the InnSuites eventually."

Hotels get booked several months in advance, so watch out.
Priceline (and similar outfits) might still have rooms available
at some of the bigger hotels.

Thanks again for the advice.

BTW, I was looking at partly clouldy skies over Austin, Texas
during the Leonids. Clouds cleared just as the show was over
(around 5:00 localtime). Still, the show was good.
