Hello everyone, first of all to tell all of you that I got back now from the
US and I was checking my meteorite collection because one friend gave me a
rock to take a closer look, because it resembles a meteorite. Well I
compared the rock with one of my Canyon Diablo 53 grs specimens. I took a
magnet and put it close to the Canyon Diablo and the surprise was that after
doing that a small part of the specimen broke¡¡¡¡¡¡It was a small part from
the corner and it is obvious that inside it is rusting, but I have in a very
dry enviroment. Does anyone know if Canyon Diablo are unstable or what can I
do to prevent rusting and fragments falling as a consequence ?????

I will appreciatte any help pls. Regarding the rock my friend gave me, its a
rock very heavy that attracts the magnet just like an iron meteorite, its
rusted and has several white mineral stains. I grinded a corner and found
that has a silver shiny flakes, but not all. Some parts appear black, just
like a Vaca Muerta from my collection.

Does anyone know what happens when you grind an Iron Meteorite?, hows the
grind part?..all silver shiny?? or mixed with black??

Thanks a lot¡¡¡¡¡
