Dear List Members

The question was brought up if it was rust showing on the slices we cut, the
answer is no. First of all we cut using pure 200 proof ethyl alcohol not
rubbing alcohol which actually attracts water. Second of all I feel I need
to warn anybody cutting with alcohol to have the proper saw to use this type
of coolant. If not we will be reading about a bunch of burn victims because
you can not see this stuff burn and one tiny spark from the saw motor will
ignite it.

We use a very expensive saw with its coolant reservoir isolated from the
motor housing. I doubt very many dealers have invested over $5,000.00 for
this kind of setup. I noticed that your saw Mike was only setup for oil or
water. I doubt anybody polishes these slices using alcohol or oil so the
saw is not the only way to introduce water. If polishing in water I suggest
distilled water be used because it does not contain chlorine, the number one
meteorite killer. After cutting and polishing I suggest drying under a
heatlamp.

All the best,

Adam
