I checked into the same filters Tracy is talking about here. They are very
sensitive and the manufacturers generally don't tell you that they need
cleaning more than they claim. For example, If you burn a candle in the
same room as one of these filters, you must clean the charged plates every
time you use the candle, not once-a-day, but every time you use a candle.

removing dust, allergens etc. from our home.  Some of these
purifiers emit negative ions into the air (e.g. the Holmes Harmony
Ionizing air Purifier, available at your local Walmart). Does this affect
the risk/rate of corrosion for any meteorites in the same room? We keep
