If it is indeed Park Forest that we are talking about here then this is =
a classic example of what can happen which is out of a dealers control. =
The dealers who were first on the scene got a few good deals at a couple =
of dollars a gram but not much material changed hands at this price. =
Then the next day the locals were asking up to $10- per gram and the =
dealers were paying it as the specimens were fresh and the meteorite was =
HOT. Sales to collectors were happening by dealers while they were =
still in Chicago. The locals got greedy and started asking for more $$$ =
even though the later finds showed signs of weathering. The dealers =
started walking away leaving those "potential millionaires" holding on =
to their rocks.

Next thing you know some of those locals started listing the PF =
meteorites on ebay at what would be considered the high wholesale price =
paid by some dealers. I saw sellers with ZERO feedback selling PF on =
ebay.

Now just because someone has ZERO $$$ in their specimen and is willing =
to sell a few pieces at wholesale prices on ebay does not mean that this =
will be the market maker price. In fact I would suspect that the smart =
dealers would just hold on to their remaining pieces until these =
armatures sell their pieces and the market returns to some sense of =
normalcy. (Remember Steve Schoner's millbillillie story?)

So, should every dealer who sold PF on the first or second day refund =
all the $$$ paid by collectors just because there are a few pieces that =
show up on ebay at wholesale prices. The short answer is NO.

By-the-way, I have not Bought or Sold any Park Forest so I have no =
vested interest in the market price of this meteorite.

Best Wishes.......
