Rissani is one of a bunch of places in morocco where
local dealers buy from and/or sell on consignment on
behalf of nomads. The fact that they are sold in
Rissani is not in any way better or worse than if they
were sold in other places such as erfoud, H'hamid,
zagora, or other places where meteorites are sold.
In fact there is a strong possibility that the same
(paired) meteorites would be found in lots of
different places as different nomads search the same
strewnfields or a nomad tries to get higher prices for
his rocks by selling a few to lots of different
dealers. Odds are they were not found near Rissani as
eastern morocco is full of black rocks and not good
for meteorite hunting but there are exceptions. Most
meteorites are brought in from elsewhere.
I suspect that these on ebay are just another
unclassified NWA. Wither the ones on ebay is real or
not of course I cant really say as I dont normally
deal with many local dealers and dont know the seller
personally. However, given that they are sophisticated
enough to list items on ebay I would guess (As long as
they are being honest and genuinely think that they
are selling meteorites) that the seller could identify
the meteorites from the desert rocks that are also
passed of as meteorites in morocco and that they are
selling genuine meteorites on ebay. But I am just
guessing on that.
Cheers
