[meteorite-list] cleaning

Hi

When I look at the page for NWA869, on The Meteorite Market homepage it =
say:
"The slices on this page have been cleaned to show their petrologic =
features."

How is this done ?

And the brown color usualy covering the faces of many meteorite-slices, =
is that a result of oxidation from the atmosphere on this planet ? =
(rust?)
