> Meteorites, Volume 2, pp. 292-294, excerpts:

There is a picture of an etched slice of Bagdad in the book, "Catalog of
Meteorites in the collection of Arizona State University" on page eighteen.
This slice shows a heat rim around the entire circumference.

Hello John and List,

This is probably the section through the main mass that is also pictured
in Buchwald (p. 292). Vagn Buchwald comments the b&w photo: "Section
through the mass distinctly showing the heat-affected alpha2-zone".

The author estimates that Bagdad may have measured 17 x 15 x 13 cm
before it was ablated during its fiery passage through our atmosphere.

This would correspond to a preatmospheric mass of about 13 kg.

Best wishes,

Bernd
