On a more positive note:

The recent MAPS issue (Vol.42 no.3 March 2007), also
contains the latest Meteoritical Bulletin (#91).

I can see from reading Table 3, which contains the
"Officially recognized meteorites" for North America,
that "Congratulations" are in order for a number of
finders, and some of them are members of this List:

Asher & Baird (for BM 003)
Sonny Clary leads the pack with his 3 finds
Jeff Pringle, and
Greg Stanley, are Californians with 1 find, each, as
is
Thaddeus Besedin, who has donated his find to a
museum.

There are others, but I don't know who they are, so
please introduce yourself.

Total of ~16 finds from N. America in this issue, but
ONLY 3 of them are from dry lakes!!!
Is this the start of trend?
Yes, but it's NOT a trend of fewer finds being made.

Sadly, it's an indication of a trend in which many
finds ARE being made on drylakes, but because those
localities already have a name (with numbers) many of
the newer finds are going UNREPORTED and UNCLASSIFIED.

Well, at least I started on a "positive note",
Bob V.
