Greg Stanley and list.

The BRECCIATED CHONDRITE photo is that of an NWA869.

I am 99% certain.

Nice specimen but not overly rare.

Breccia Chondrite?
List:

I bought this meteorite months ago and just got around to cutting it this weekend, and surprise, it looks like a polymict breccia. What is interesting is that the metal is evenly distributed throughout the meteorite, but the mineral composition looks different. There are light colored clasts with rust stains, and also some dark clasts within a med-gray chondritic material. I would guess an H4 or so. Maybe the light colored clasts are achondric? That would be nice.

Attached is a link with photos take a look and let me know your thoughts.

Are these breccias a relatively common occurrence?

Much Thanks,

At night look up and during the day look down.

Greg S.

Good morning list. How rare are impact craters on
meteorites?I know you see a small handfull on some
meteorites.I have seen alot on small
sikote-alins.etc.Have there ever been any on stoney or
stony-iron meteorites?I just bought a campo that has a
huge impact crater.I have never seen any on a
campo, one of the reasons I bought it.I think this is
an interesting thread.Any comments on this?
