Subject: [meteorite-list] Meteorite fall in New Hampshire?

I have recieved the email below. I have no time to
investigate the event, but perhaps some of you on the
east coast might like a little challenge?
Mike Farmer

"I don't know if you can be of assistance to my Mother
or not, but she is convinced that something fell into
her pond. She lives in Charlestown, NH and has a
small pond on her property. They just got over two
feet of snow after which she noticed an 18" diameter
whole in the center of the pond the following morning.
She noted splash marks around the perfectly round
whole. There were no foot prints or other indications
that it was a creature or person. She was perplexed
by how the whole suddenly appeared and whatever it was
went through all that snow and ice.

If you are interested in determining whether it was a
meteorite or if you can refer us to someone locally,
we would appreciate it! "

We look forward to your reply.

Jennifer Blanchard
