Most chondrites You can put to water for a shorter moment (seweral minutes)
without problem. Especially stable sahara meteorites or weathered stuff like
Yours where You can't make it worse. Be aware of doing this with fresh
material like Benguerir or rusty crap like Ghubara.

If You must use water, f.e. for cutting or polishing proces, then put wet
samples immediatelly to pure alcohol for a short moment and then heat them
carefully. If You put them wet to heating place then hot water in meteorite
can start killing iron inside before hot air will remove water. It is
especially dangerous in porous meteorites.

water ---> alcohol ---> heating
and everything will be OK
