[meteorite-list] Question For The List ???? WHO IS THE BEST ANDMOST SUCCESSFUL METEORITE HUNTER OUT THERE?

Trust me, you don't want to know!

I am an industrial hygienist, and the profession has changed so much over
the years. It used to be about protecting worker health and safety - now so
much of the profession is devoted to mold investigation, asbestos
remediation and lead remediation.

It frequently comes down to chasing the almighty dollar.

Perhaps things will change with the new administration in Washington, but I
really don't know.

In any event, sorry to go off topic for a moment.

Back to business - I am fairly new to the meteorite field, but the name Bob
Haag comes to my mind. Whether this is a reasonable choice, I don't know.
But this will give you an indication of who new people coming to the hobby
think - right or wrong. I will leave it for others on the list to discuss
the merits.

But when I think of physics, I think Einstein. When I think of Chemistry, I
think Lavoisier. Granted, these are deceased.

But I feel really strongly about the concept. The great people, whoever
they are and in whatever field, just become known by their accomplishments,
regardless of any promotion and hype. If it's just promotion and hype, they
are soon forgotten, so history becomes the ultimate judge.

In any event, thanks for the question! Kind of interesting!

Mark
