First off, the Nomenclature Committee IS NOT and DOES NOT financially support the illegal export of meteorites.
To claim such is a groundless claim that should not be made without hard indisputable facts provided.

Where blame should be placed (if anyone really feels the need to cast blame) is at those that sell such items and falsify the find locations.

How can the NomCom be expected to police others actions? They can only go by the information given to them.
Under that reasoning, if someone files a false police report and has you arrested, only for you to prove it was a lie, are the police also liable for the false arrest? No. Only the person who filed the false claim. Same with this issue.

AS for the value, I have seen unclassified meteorites that have very sketchy information that nobody wants to talk about sell for a good amount more then classified counterparts - see Tahoka (?)
