My first meteorites were a close-out Meade starter collection about 2006 consisting of 18 meteorites, 4 tektites, and 2 impactites. This led to reading "Rocks From Space," more meteorite purchases, reading "Thunderstones and Shooting Stars," more meteorite purchases, buying a stereomicroscope, more meteorite purchases, joining the Meteoritical Society, more meteorite purchases, reading Hutchison's "Meteorites," more...you all know the sad saga. When the bug bites you, the rascal bites you hard.
