The Big asteroidal hits that are known of have been Canyon Diablo (46,000 BCE), Campo de Cielo (2,235 BCE if memory serves), one in Siberia 26,000 BCE and one in Alaska ca 34,000 BCE. It is currently unknown if Brenham was a "hammer". There's likely to be more, those are just the known ones.

Comets, now that's a different story...
