Hi Tom,

Thanks for this link. It is a handsome piece of asteroid to be
delivered to one's home. The damage would be quite easy to repair and
no-one was hurt. If something like this hit a person standing outside,
it would kill or seriously injure them.

The video shows the meteorite - a chondrite - to be burnt on most of its
outside, but one side is a fresh fracture inside this burnt area.

Would this have occurred in the roof, or can a meteorite survive being
toasted and the extreme forces this involves, and then break apart in
the atmosphere before hitting the ground?
