While Bill Napier has proposed that Comet Encke was involved in these events:

The anthropological evidence indicates that it was yet another comet,
Giacobini-Zimmer, the progenitor of the Draconid Meteor stream:

Examining the remains at Gobekli Tepe, we find that they were constructed to be oriented towards the direction of the Draconids, and not to the direction of the Taurids and Encke:

This is very bad news, as it indicates that the rate of cometary injection and impact with the Earth was much higher in the "recent" past than previously estimated. If this was not a one off occurence, but instead represents the long term rate, then...
