Well, the issue has been resolved and reliable location information provided to the classifying scientist.

A great example of the community working together. A big thank you to the dealer(s) that helped solve this problem. We should see a new classification soon ...

Best to all,

Mendy, all,

The Republic of Niger and Nigeria are two different countries. Calling a meteorite that is supposedly from Niger ?Nigerian? is certainly not helping your cause.

Also, in my humble opinion, it is your seller?s liability to maintain the chain of provenance and provide you with credible location data.

Clouding find information of meteorites seems to have become a sport with finders and middlesmen from certain countries. Dealers buying merchandise without insisting to get at least basic find data from their suppliers contribute to the problem.

Best regards
