Re: Mt Tazerzait: Some observations

Thanks to Doug for pointing something out to me. I was aware of
what I was doing by speculating on some properties in Mt. Tazerzait. It
was my hope someone on this list would have a better knowledge of the
subject, and tell me whether I was on the right track, or completely off
the mark. What it did do was provide me with photographs, and a few
private communications from those who posesses it.That has been
invaluable, but I am still perplexed.
In response to Doug, I needed to finnish my thought. When I was
talking about speculation has no place in science, I was trying to say,
that it does not belong in a final product. What I mean is, speculation
leads to evidence which backs up an idea, this moves it to hypothesis.
Here a body of evidence is held, and can be added to or subtracted from.
You can not write down a speculation and publish it as fact. This was my
point, and I failed to make it.
I accept the responsibility of my Mt. Tazerzait post, as I did it
on purpose to stimulate some response, whether pleasant or not. Matt and
Doug are correct, speculation is important to science. However it must be
brought to the level of hypothesis based on evidence.
I have a question for the members of this list. I am perplexed by
the Mt. Tazerzait meteorite. I never had a interest in owning it, but
would like to purchase a 5 gram slice, so I can investigate it on my own,
and make a thin section to anaylize under the microscope and microprobe. Is
anybody willing to part with, and sell me a small portion? If you are, please
e-mail me directly, and we can discuss the details.

Thanks for your time,

Frank Stroik
