It is obvious that I was mistaken regarding my question and thank the group for properly humbling me as well as enlightening me about this matter. It sure shows that when you err in front of the "world" you are gonna get your butt kicked. Thanks all for your feedback. I never considered how much metallic stuff is floating around out there..

Dear Glenn,
I, for one, consider it most unfortunate that so many members find it
nessessary to administer a "butt kicking" when someone is in error. I
have had SEVERAL members email me directly, on more than one occasion
(probably because I am "in error" more often than most!) to say they
generally enjoy receiving the newsletter, but would NEVER make an entry
or even ask a question for fear of being treated in the manner to which
you refer.
I think this is too bad - for more reasons than one.
- we loose what could be valuable input from those who stay on the
sidelines - (they stay there for good reason - NO ONE LIKES
	A BUTT KICKING)
- people (AT LEAST several) do not ask questions. This is a tragedy
(at least a minor one). At least some of those unasked questions
no doubt, involve an answer from which several readers
      could benifit
- it is distructive to any sense of "community" - and we, as
collectors, DO constitute a community - but some communities
are not safe to walk in after dark
I have seen this with your question, when someone asked how big the
average meteorite is, several times with remarks I have made, even if I
was quoting someone else, etc.
I am NOT pointing a finger at any particular PERSON or INDIVIDUALS -
what I am saying is, THIS IS AN UNHEALTHY DYNAMIC - this is a behavior
we would ALL do better without.
No one should feel it is "unsafe" to say something - or to even ask a
question! For those who do not know how to address an issue that SEEMS
clear enough to them, without attacking, using sarcasm, or in other ways
expressing disrespect, I suggest they look at some of the responses made
by Frank Stroik (don't mean to put you "on the spot," Frank, but you
have served as an excellent roll model in this regard).
Let's make it our business to be sure that everyone, including the
newest of newcommers (& even people we think "should" know better) feel
this forum is a SAFE place for learning & sharing information about
meteorites. Isn't that what we are all here for?
	Best wishes, Michael
