Re: Perspective

Hello George and list,

You are absolutely correct, George. I am such a novice at this meteor
'stuff' I was not clear at all on what constitutes a 'meteor shower'.
Actually, ITOT even a bolt from a shuttle could appear as a meteor since
it is the light given off when the object enters the atmosphere and not
the object(s) itself. I believe Gene Roberts pointed that out.

However, that aside, there was a second part of the issue where I
doubted the accuracy of employing what has now become a very tired old
example (that I hope I never hear again) when discussing particles in
motion in space since the notion of parallelism here is muddied even
though the particles are related and travelling in a similar course.
The only thing I questioned is your shot gun example which I found to be
at total odds and contradictory to your own explanation of illusory
perspective . I asked no questions except whether the comet debris
should be thought of as your shot gun example or Bernd Pauli's RR track
example. I found both inadequate and misleading.

I regret that you found no humor in anything I said. I intended no
malice. I love to fool around as most people find humor a welcome
break. I apologize for upsetting you. I really was trying to loosen
you up since you wanted to continue the discussion and I wanted to
stop. I hope we can put this behind us . Although it's a pretty good
bet that I will continue to express as many concepts as possible in a
humorous way, I will try to learn the different personalities of the
people on the list and not joke with those who wish to remain serious.
This is not a criticism. I envy your command of the field and database
of knowledge and thank you again for your very well stated walk through
on the initial phase of the discussion.

Sincerely,
Julia
