Re: The Fight for Truth, Justice, & the American Way,

Dear Steve, (and the rest of the list)
I have been reading about this topic, seamingly "forever."
There have been many very interesting things said, and many less than
interesting.
First, it might be best to clarify something: This was launched under
the title, "Truth, Justince & the American Way." (excuse me if I take a
moment to choke) When stringing those words togeather, they might be
more acurately be stated as, "Truth, Justice OR The American Way (check
one)"
First of all, "Truth" is, to no small degree, RELATIVE.
Second, "Justice" exists only at the highest metaphisical level. (This
could be expanded on greatly - just ask Native Americans {Indians},
African Americans, ETC.) Has anyone ever heard the saying, "Who ever
said life was fair?"
As for "The American Way" - you've got to be kidding! (this is NOTHING
against the IDEALS upon which the U.S.A. was founded) PLEASE! This
would require an essay starting with slaves owned by some of the
"founding fathers" and the Native Americans and ending with the Gulf War
Vets denied medical treatment for illness suffered as a direct result of
combat. I will spare us all ( myself included) such an aganizing
diatribe.
Now, Steve, you and I know perfectly well you did NOT go to Texas to
"defend the rights" of the kids near where one of the meteorites fell.
You want to buy that puppy & make some bucks - that's fine - I am all
behind "free enterprize" (or, you may want to simply "broker" it on
their behalf - also fine)- and, as long as the kids get reasonable
compensation, great. Then you will have conducted yourself in an
honorable manor.
HOWEVER, should you stir up a honets nest, fail to leave sleaping dogs
lie (etc) and set into motion, events that CHANGE LAWS FOR THE WORSE,
then I wonder how many on this list will be cheering.
Please remember, life is not a comic book. "Fighting the good fight"
requires one remember that wining a battle is NOT desirable if it
contributes to loosing a war.
Therefore, I encourage you to procede VERY cautiously.
	Best wishes, Michael
