Re: Allende Info needed

Probably what you see is troilite, FeS, iron pyrrhite, "fool's gold".
It goes by all these names.

This is a common mineral in most meteorites.

Even more interesting are the white splash-like parts - called CAIs -
Calcium-, Aluminum-rich Intrusions, mostly CaO and Al2O3 (sorry
no subscripts in ascii), SiO2 and MgO.

Allende also might contain interstellar dust, but you would probably
need an electron microscope to see it.

This sounds a bit like a science project or homework, the fun is in
the finding out for oneself. Allende is probably one of the most
studied, accessible meteorites, and just about every meteorite book
will have something to say about it.

"Rocks from Space", by Norton has a good description of the fall and
ample information about the meteorite.
