Re: What to read?

Jeff,
Welcome to "the list." I consider 3 books "must" reading:
1) Norton's (by all means, the 2nd edition) - Amazon Press.
2) FIND A FALLING STAR by Nininger -THE most absorbing book, by far -
written in a biographical narative by THE most important meteoriticist
in the U.S. - also, BY FAR the most successfull meteorite hunter of all
time. If you can find a paperback, that would be terrific - I have only
a couple of hard backs that cost $75 as "collectors' items" - still
worth it, but better if you can find a paperback somewhere - I sold them
for $25 for years until I sold out about 8 months ago - can't find any
more (yet).
3)Frank Stroik's new booklet that informs the layman of the significance
of all the various meteorite types. Replacess Dodd's classic,
THUNDERSTONES AND SHOOTING STARS (much easier to comprehend without a
Masters degree in solar system petrology - and Dodd had been the easiest
before that). Contact Frank directly at:

Best wishes & HAPPY HUNTING (Sedona is only one of the most beautiful
places on the planet - you lucky dog !) Michael
