Ari. They are not doing anything illegal. Have you ever tried to cross a
border in Africa without "tipping" border officials? Its not impossible.
Most people would rather part with a few dollars and get the paperwork done
in a couple hours rather than a couple days. I am sure that some desert
travellers are probably "holier than thou" and would not be willing to be
subjected to such extortion by border guards and police. Did you see the
movie "traffic". Remember the line "Being a Police officer is considered an
enterprising career in mexico". That applies to africa to. Nobody is doing
anything illegal. Everybody is allowed to search for meteorites in the
sahara and legally keep what they find. You are not buying contrband
meteorites here no matter who you buy from.
