Hi list,

Just wanted to report on the shower.

I went out with my wife, a friend and his wife and
father. Two hours south on I - 75 found us in the
right place for viewing, though I had primed the crowd
with some Oohs and Aahs before we stopped.

What's that noise? A sonic boom? No. Nothing of the
sort. It was cows chewing cud at 3:30 A.M. Don't they
ever sleep?

Some of the Leonids would streak across the sky and
seem to light up like a halogen bulb just before
disappearing. Those were striking. Then there was the
shadow-caster...well, if it were lower. It ignited
like the flash of an old time camera. The trail was
visible for over at least a minute.

Then ofcourse there was the mini-Peekskill. The bolide
some have talked about. I was really happy to have a
frame of reference for that one. I just couldn't
believe my eyes. Plus, with the 4 A.M giddys, the
night was complete.

Can't wait for the show in 2100!
