How does a person recognize / identify highly
weathered meteorites that are often called either
"shale balls" or "iron shale"? Are there any
petrographic criteria that can be used to recognize
/ identify weathered meteorites in thin section?
Any citations, more recent than Nininger's
"Terrestrialization of Meteorites" would be
appreciated.

How does a person differentiate them from
pedogenic concretions?

Yours,
