Perhaps this can be of some use. Rather than dealing with how to moderate
the list, this relates to the actual mechanics of whatever marketing is
permitted by the moderator's rules in effect:

Assuming the restrictions or lack of them relating to selling, as applicable,
it would be helpful to distinguish between SALE and AD in the title.

SALE: Items being commercialized at seller determined preferential prices or
exclusively (at first) to the list.
AD: Items being commercialized in general where listmembers don't have
an edge, especially Ads on eBay, a commercial website, etc. (except a
commercial website with a real sale exclusive to the list members).

This way, the benefit goes two ways for those dealing with sales, which
theoretically benefits the the whole list. And ads are easy to sift through as
some prefer. A little give and take on both sides could be a healthy business
practice that might remove some rusty feelings? thoughts?
