Meteorite-Like Object Sighted in Missouri
WILLOW SPRINGS, Mo. (AP) - An object believed to have been a meteorite wa=
s sighted in this area early today. =20
Residents of southwest Missouri, southeast Kansas, northwest Arkansas and=
 northeast Oklahoma reported seeing the object about 1 a.m. It was visibl=
e only a few seconds before disintegrating.
Mrs. Ken Stutsman of Willow Springs said she noticed it through a window =
of her home but by the time she got outside the tail had come off and the=
 object disintegrated "like a fireworks display."
It was moving northwest, she said.
